MOQ and materials

• What is your minimum order quantity per style and per colour? — Bag MOQs in Europe often range from 50–300 units per style. Listen for per-style and per-colour minimums; leather and hardware can affect minimums.
• Do you source materials (e.g. canvas, leather, vegan leather)? — Material sourcing drives lead time and MOQ. Ask what they stock or can source and whether you can supply your own.
• Do you work with sustainable or recycled materials? — Recycled and sustainable materials may have different minimums and lead times. Ask what’s available and at what MOQ.
• Can I get a sample run before bulk production? — Sample runs (e.g. 10–30 units) help confirm construction and hardware. Ask minimum for sampling and whether the same factory does bulk.

Hardware and lead times

• Do you source hardware (zips, buckles, D-rings), or do I need to supply? — Hardware lead times can add 4–8 weeks. Ask what they stock or source and whether you can supply custom hardware.
• What is your typical lead time from order confirmation to delivery? — Bags often run 8–14 weeks. Get a breakdown: materials, hardware, cut, make, pack. Custom hardware can add significant time.
• Do you do printing or embroidery on bags? — Print and embroidery may have separate minimums. Ask what they offer in-house and at what MOQ per placement.

Quality and compliance

• What quality checks do you do (e.g. construction, hardware, dimensions)? — Listen for construction checks, hardware function, and dimension tolerance. Bags are scrutinized for durability and finish.
• Do you have experience with leather, vegan leather, or technical fabrics? — Different materials need different handling. Match your product to what they regularly run.
• What is your policy on seconds or off-spec goods? — Clarify how they handle units that don’t meet spec and who bears the cost of remakes or discounts.
